about
Hi, I’m Elle-Rose.
But please call me Ellie. I am an artist and designer who creates artwork inspired by how I experience the world as a late-diagnosed AuDHDer. I have always been drawn to what is seen as weird, quirky, or overlooked by others, and it was not until I was diagnosed that I understood why. I identify with the underappreciated, overlooked, and interesting things in our world that deserve attention, as I have been largely misunderstood by everyone, including myself.
As a result, my artwork is influenced by structures like microscopic organisms, lichen, nudibranchs, and bugs. I love to research our world and how it came to be so that I might understand how it is that it exists and why our society largely doesn’t see it.
I hope to always capture that magical feeling of “otherworldliness” in my work – urging you to stop and take in this beautiful natural world beyond the first glance.
never stop exploring,
Elle-Rose x
history
then I learned I am neurodivergent and the world made sense
I studied art, visual media, and engineering before giving up on being anything more than an administrator. In 2015 I inherited my mum’s full lead lighting kit and quickly became obsessed with creating everything from glass origami, kinetic structures, and lights. But when glass couldn’t do what I wanted it to resin came to the rescue and I quickly developed ways to work with plants in resin which is what I became known for.
Over the past 10 years I have completed over 300 commissions, taught 1000s of people to paint, use resin, create moulds, and run art businesses.
I no longer take commissions and instead focus my time on creating artwork and helping others appreciate the wonder of doing the same. I am passionate about nature, sociology, and neurodivergence now enjoy teaching others how to embrace their artistic selves while also create artwork that reminds us that life is a magical journey.
